The Tests

The United Kingdom driving test is a test which drivers must pass to obtain a driving licence. Different tests are available for users of different vehicles, from car drivers, to motorcyclists and HGV drivers.

The test is separated into three distinct parts: the theory test, hazard perception test and practical test.

It is necessary to pass all three parts, theory, hazard perception and practical, before a full driving licence is granted.

The day you pass your practical test will be something that you will remember for the rest of your life. I know, I took my learner test 33 years ago and still remember the day vividly.

It can also be a very disappointing experience if you arrive on the day unprepared.

The current local pass rate (Taunton test centre) is around 48%. This is ridiculously low and means that half of all those that attempt the practical test result in failure.

There are lots of reasons given for test failure ,nerves, harsh examiners, the weather conditions and more.

The main reason for being unsuccessful is lack of knowledge in combination with lack of practise, so in a word inconsistent.

We cannot guarantee anyone a test pass, but we will prepare you to the best of your ability. Out instructors are highly skilled and experienced in assessing when you will be ready FOR SUCCESS.

Many driving schools will quote pass rates well above average, how can they all have high pass rates, with the local average of 48%.

Our current 1st time pass rate for 2007 is 81% and we have just recorded 23 consecutive test passes. Obviously pass rates will fluctuate over time, but rest assured that we will work tirelessly with you, and make your big day A DAY TO REMEMBER.

We are one of the very few driving schools that offer a free practical test booking service. We offer this, as part of our customer service to ensure that all arrangements are made professionally and that everything runs smoothly on the big day, leaving you to concentrate on your driving.

I strongly recommend that you read this article before taking your practical test.
